Information on the year of Nancy Ann's birth taken from the article in
the book "Harrison Co TX Caucasian Residents in 1880" gives date of birth as c. 1821 and date of death as 1901. However, in
the Verticle Files of the Harrison Co. Library, there was handwritten data submitted to the files by a descendant that gives
her date of birth as 01/22/1811 and date of death as 1910. I believe the 1811 date to be correct.

About 1837, they moved to Tippah Co. MS, where the family is
found on the 1840 census. James died in MS, Sarah migrated to TX with her son Bartlett,arriving abt 1853,settling in Coffeyville,
Upshur Co.TX. Cemetery look-ups in Upshur Co failed to find Sarah, but there are very few readable headstones in this area
dated before 1870.
Sarah re-married after she migrated to TX, to a J.J. Wells. This info is based on a letter written
by Martha Jane (Perkins) Collier in 1858 Tippah Co MS to Sarah Wells "Mother" and has a note written on the back signed by
L.B.I. Collier ( Littleberry Iverson),
(though the typed transcription says G.B.I.)
On the 1860 Upshur Co census
J.J. Wells and wife Sarah,age 62, are shown with B.Y. Collier and Jane Collier, both age 27,in the household;the ages are
wrong, Bartlett Y. was actually 29 and Margaret Jane was only 17. (S.J.K.Collier Wells was actually 65 at this time, but women
often shaved a few years off their age on censuses.)
The letter refers to "brother Henry J. Warren" coming to visit. Transcription
of the letter says "Henry T.", but that is an error. Henry was married to Mary Ann Minerva Collier. At the bottom of this
letter,it says (as transcribed) "to S.J. Wells, S. M. Wells, at home". I have no idea who S.M.Wells was, but this could be
an error by the transcriber. The original letter was in possession of Elizabeth Matilda "Tildy" Collier Pierce, a daughter
of John William Wesley Collier, in the 1970s when she was in a nursing home in Lancaster,TX, but the whereabouts of the letter
after Tildy died are unknown. Her niece transcribed the letter since Tildy would not let it out of her possession to be copied.

Thomas is found on the 1840 census in Tippah Co. MS; he migrated to Shelby Co. TX in 1841. He is found
on the 1846 Tax List in Shelby Co. and on the 1850 census for Upshur Co. TX.
He received a Headright Certificate for 640
acres in Fannin Co. TX. He sold this land and purchased land in Upshur Co. with John McNairy. A land deed signed by him in
Sept of 1863 in Upshur Co. Tx is the last record found for him.
Thomas Collier is referred to as John Thomas Collier
in both the Upshur County History Book published in 1996 and in records that were submitted to the LDS Family Files, but all
census records found only list him as
Thomas and his marriage record to Susanah Pinson also lists him as Thomas. There
is a deed of sale dated Aug 18, 1834 in Giles Co TN which includes the line "I, Thomas
Collier of the State of Tennessee
Giles County , have this day transferred all my right, title and Interest of a Certain Crop of Corn fodder and Shucks...."
I believe this line has been misinterpreted as J. Thomas Collier,and that is why some think his first name was John. However,
if you read the sentence as J. Thomas Collier.etc it doesnt make sense, and by comparing the other I s and J s in the document,
it is clear that this is an I.
Though Susanah is listed as a daughter of John Pinson by the Chandler Family Association,
there is a possibility that she was the daughter of his brother Isaac. Information from James Pinson.

Iverson served in Co. D, 2nd Regt, Texas Mounted Volunteers under Lt.
Col. John E. Myrick during The Mexican War. He recieved a headright bounty for this service

During the Civil War, he was a private in Co. I, Edward Clark's 14th Regt of Texas Infantry, enrolled by Capt.W. L. Coppedge
on Mar 1, 1862 at
Coffeeville, Upshur Co. TX along with his brother, John Thomas Collier, and his cousin Bartlett Yancey
Collier. He was discharged on June 23,1862 under the provisions of the Conscription Act. He later removed to neighboring Franklin
County, where he married Margaret Johnson Collier, the widow of Bartlett. In abt 1880 he established the Collier's Chapel
Methodist Church in Franklin Co. TX and is buried beside Margaret in the Chapel cemetery. There is a "Citizen of the Republic
of Texas" marker on his grave.

He was wounded in the shoulder during the War and lost the use of one arm. After the war he received a land grant for 640
acres, but he never located the land. He filed for a Confederate Pension twice, the first application was denied in 1899,
the second one, in 1904, was approved.

John lived in
Lancaster, SC before settling early in Limestone Co. There is no positive evidence that he was a cousin of this line of Colliers,
however, in an article on the Colliers in Limestone Co. AL, submitted to the book " The Lure and Lore of Limestone County,
Alabama",it is mentioned that "some believe John to have been the son of Jesse Collier and Rebecca Ivey". Jesse Collier was
a son of John Collier and Sarah Horton. The info was submitted to the book by a descendant of Joseph Collier and Nancy Meacham.
I have not found anything as yet to prove it.
